must have

Wow, this is a great week for my ego LOL! First the Evolved Blogger award, now Treehugger. Green Grechen was chosen along with 6 other eco-fashion blogs as a “Must Read Green Fashion Blog.” And the thing is, if I had to choose the perfect way to have my site described, this would be it:

If your super-stylish, always-eco-conscious best friend had a Web site, the resulting blog would be a lot like Green Grechen: full of killer sales and giveaways, how-tos on everything from vintage shopping to choosing the perfect nail color, and product highlights that include flirty summer dresses, chic eco-shoes, and jewelry that makes a statement.

In fact, that’s exactly how I’ve always tried to position all of my sites (Grechen’s Closet and grechenscodes.com in addition to this one) – as if I was your BFF :) So, thanks Treehugger for recognizing that, and thank YOU for reading. I REALLY REALLY appreciate it.

by grechen on April 17, 2009 | SUBSCRIBE | TWITTER | FACEBOOK |

Get on this one…Ecosteal.com (a new “sample sale” type website only for eco-friendly fashion) has quite a deal on SPUN organic cotton tees right now! Available in black, blue and bittersweet, this comfy tee is only $12.50. (I have a couple of these tees, the blue is my favorite color, it’s a great shade of blue, not navy, and not light blue, kind of periwinkle?)

Must Have: Manimal Moccasins

by grechen on March 13, 2009 | SUBSCRIBE | TWITTER | FACEBOOK |

Honestly, these Manimal moccasins weren’t very appealing to me at first, but they’ve totally grown on me. They look incredibly comfortable and would be so cute with a pair of straight-leg jeans and long cardigan:

They’re also available in sensible gray and brown, but I love to wear color on my feet. Several of the colors are available as vegan-friendly, but the others are made of suede. They all feature recycled tire soles and polar fleece lining. All styles are on sale now at Beklina for $140 – down from $184.
