Through 5/16, items at Canadian Independent eco-fashion designer, Nixxi‘s, webshop are marked down 20-40%. Things from last season are going fast, but S/S 10 still has some very interesting pieces left. Like this wrap, made of different combinations of organic cotton, bamboo viscose, tencel jersey & soy, depending on the color:
It’s been a long time since I featured my favorite indie organic cotton clothing designer, Sara Seumae from SPUN, too long in fact. So today I’m back with an announcement: SPUN has launched e-commerce AND you can save 30% off your order when you use code “congrats!” There’s really no excuse NOT to pick up a few pieces now, her prices were already very reasonable, the 30% off makes them a steal. And since I own several pieces (that were gracious gifts from Sara), I can personally vouch for how wonderful they are.
My favorite is still the cardigan (which would be about $45 after the code):

More favorites:
I was in love the moment I saw the dalby jean jumper…It’s made from recycled denim by Portland independent designer anisa makhoul of Makool Loves You:

Available in all sizes, up to XL, this dress is only $112, and would sooooo cute with tights and a turtleneck underneath.
What sells me on an item of clothing is the details. I’m always looking for an interesting neckline, some detailing around the hem, alternative fasteners, multi-functionality…so imagine how excited I was to stumble across Pretty Birdie on etsy, and her fabulous Hemp/Organic Cotton Snap Jacket:

I love everything about this jacket: the sleeve length, the pockets, the tie-waist, the material and the length, but THE SNAPS are awesome! If she had used buttons to close the jacket, and on the pockets, it wouldn’t have been as interesting or appealing. It’s just a reminder how important the little things are sometimes…
Vegan shoes are getting easier to find all the time (especially online), but vegan AND cute shoes – not so much. They’re out there, but I still think a lot of the larger vegan/eco-friendly shoe lines (Payless, Simple, etc.) design more for function than for fun, and therefore neglect a large part of their potential market: the vegan woman who loves fashion (like me – and maybe you!).
Not so, Form and Fauna. Designed by a former yoga instructor, Form and Fauna shoes are as fashion-friendly as they are eco-friendly. Produced in the US, all the shoes are made from sustainable materials and the highest quality synthetics. No wonder they’re consistently featured as one of the better eco-footwear companies today!
Check out some of the most fashionable styles at the Olio United Trunk show this week, where they’re also marked down (until Saturday). My favorite pair is the Cleopatra wedge; how beautiful would these be with a lovely teal dress??
