I decided after yesterday’s post on recycled leather handbags, I’d make this week kind of an informal “recycled eco-fashion” week! I love the idea of buying vintage as eco-friendly, but am not always “into” the vintage look, so recycled or re-made clothing, handbags and accessories are a great alternative. But it doesn’t have to stop with your body – if you spend as much time every day at your desk as I do, your desk could probably use some accessorizing (and organizing) too.

In my search for fabulous desk/home accessories (bet you didn’t know I love to accessorize my home as much as myself), I came across this recycled cotton desk set at one of my new favorite home decorating sites, Clayton Gray Home:

enter to win a recycled cotton desk set

The desk set is:

made from recycled cotton salvaged from the apparel industry in India. Each item is made from “khadda,” which is the unbleached hand spun rags left over from the garment industry production. No harsh chemicals or dyes are used in processing the material. The 100% cotton products are water resistant and hand-made by rural craftsmen in India

I love that this is “green” in addition to being green! The bright color would definitely bring some excitement to my desk, and I love all the pieces that come with it, especially the box. Do you love it too? Want to win it? Here’s how:

Leave a comment telling me why you could use this lovely green recycled desk set & also, visit Clayton Gray home and link me to something else you’d love to have to spruce up your home a bit! (I’d choose this modern, bright, Trina Turk rug)

ReTweet this post (use the button below), then please leave a comment that you RT’d so your entry will count

Good Luck! Contest will close Sunday, August 23.

Happy Monday – that means it’s time for another fabulous giveaway! This week, Cosa Verde is giving away two Keepsake Necklaces by pica pica (one necklace to two winners, one will be filled, and one will be empty for you to fill with your own keepsake):

enter to win a keepsake necklace from cosa verde and pica pica jewelry

I’ve always loved glass jars of all shapes and sizes, but I especially love the teeny tiny ones (which are antique glass vials originally used to hold pocket watch parts) like the ones Liz uses on her Keepsake Necklaces. There’s just something about these small glass vials that makes them more special – like they could hold a secret.

Check out pica pica on Cosa Verde along with other green, independent designers handpicked by Liz and her partner to be featured on their site. I love Cosa Verde because it’s a tightly curated, only eco-friendly “portal” to etsy; it makes shopping for locally made, independently designed eco-friendly items SO much easier than just doing a search. And everything featured at Cosa Verde is just as cute and interesting as these keepsake necklaces.

Okay, so now you want to win one?! Here’s how:

Two visitors will have a chance to win two keepsake necklaces – one filled and one empty. The contest will close this Sunday, July 26 and winners will be chosen randomly.

Multiple ways to win – each one counts as one or more entries; do one or all of them:

Leave a comment on this post telling me what you’d put in your keepsake necklace. Do you have a special little object you’d want to keep in this lovely glass vial?

I’ve loved Beth Springer since I first laid eyes on her “Ecovertible” bag (and then received my own) and learned about her commitment to environmental sustainability. Beth strives for zero waste production (she uses remnants for notecards, cuffs & one-of-a-kind purses), uses vegetable tanned leathers, and lines some bags in organic hemp/cotton. Recently, she also added a gorgeous vegan bag as well as a really lovely tyvek bag to her already fabulous lineup!

Beth is truly doing her part to create a little less waste and a little more love (through beautiful and lovingly crafted handbags!) in this world, and I’m so excited that she’s sponsoring this giveaway for her market bag.

The Prize

Beth Springer Market bag in “natural” (valued at $715) made from vegetable tanned leather & love in Venice, California:
