I have never really been a jewelry girl. Diamonds, eh (that’s why I got Moissanite). Bling, not my thing. I’ve always preferred understated, simple, and rustic jewelry. Exactly like Bario-Neal’s.
I actually stumbled across Bario-Neal about a year ago when they first started out as Rust Belt, and fell hard for their alluvial collection; the Knotted rush ring in particular. All of Bario-Neal’s jewelry is made with reclaimed precious metals, ethically-sourced stones, and using low-impact, environmentally conscious practices. They are also active in promoting transparency, fair trade initiatives, and the development of third party certification systems for ethical jewelry – see their blog for more detailed information about what they’re doing.
But I can’t deny…the coolest thing about this company is their jewelry. Every piece is handcrafted in Philadelphia, with such character and innovation that you’ve never seen anything like it. The necklaces in the Alluvial Collection are patterned after a Geological Investigation of the Lower Mississippi Alluvial Valley.
They also have a great engagement ring/bridal jewelry selection, as well as some interesting sterling and enamel rings in the Camac collection.
Check it out, and let me know what you think!
