Enter To Win Luella Bartley Designed Tees from Tonic

by grechen on November 3, 2008 | SUBSCRIBE | TWITTER | FACEBOOK |

Once again, it’s time for another great giveaway from greengrechen, and this week, Tonic. (I am so excited about this one…)

This week, Tonic is giving away two limited edition Luella Bartley designed tees AND two tees from their Classic Collection to four lucky winners here at greengrechen.com!

Tonic is a multi-tasking powerhouse that conquers junk-mail, organizes events, and collaborates with hip designers to sell even hipper tees for good causes. Each of the tees available at the Tonic shop supports a specific cause. For example, the Luella Bartley “Robin” tee above supports Friends Of Paradis des Indiens, which helps provide shoes to up to 2,500 children in Haiti, and the green Tonic “Tree” tee also featured, supports American Forests, which plants trees in North America. Each tee is made from 70% bamboo, 30% organic cotton (which equals heaven in a tee-shirt) and is available in sizes up to XL.

Tonic has also recently launched a limited edition run of cotton canvas bags also designed by Luella Bartley, with designs that match her tees. The purchase of this particular bag (for $45), provides one pair of shoes to one child in Haiti through Friends of Paradis des Indiens:

Other organizations Tonic supports are:
Save Nature – the purchase of ONE tote will adopt 1/4 acre of an endangered coral reef in Micronesia
The Global Fund for Children – purchase of ONE tote provides ONE year of dental care to TWO children in Columbia
Alive And Kicking – the purchase of one tote provides ONE soccer ball to school children in Kenya

(check out the super-cool counter on the front page of the shop to see how many children have been educated in India, how many mosquito nets have been provided to families in Africa, and how many people have received a lifetime of clean water, thanks to PEOPLE LIKE YOU AND ME, who have purchased these tees & totes)

I can’t wait to pre-order my Tonic Robin Tote and hopefully purchase a few other tees and totes for gift-giving this holiday season. These truly are gifts that keep on giving – to the children who benefit from dental care and soccer balls, the endangered coral reef and its inhabitants, AND my lovely gift recipients…for only $45.

Love that tonic robin tee and the fact that by purchasing it, it provides a child in Haiti with a pair of sneakers is fabulous. What a great effort by tonic/Luella.

katie November 4, 2008 at 8:02 am

I love the robin design and I also love the stag design. Both charities are doing amazing things; they are providing shoes/soccer balls to children – things that we most likely take for granted. Shoes? I never had to worry when i was a child, but these kids do.

I love the “Sun” tee by Luella Bartley. We need to be taking strong measures to protect our coral reefs before they’re gone! It’s time for us to see the world as bigger place than our own little area we live in!

Jen November 5, 2008 at 1:52 pm

i really love the “net” tee. because as a scientist working on infectious disease and public health I love the idea of prevention. Something so simple as providing a mosquito net for people’s houses can prevent millions of devestating deaths each year. With more education and help people suffering from malaria (the leading cause of death in the world… above everything else put together) we can help people live better lives and learn how to alter their day to day behavior to eliminate malaria and mosquitoes from their homes and loved ones.

By far, my favorite is the Tonic Net Tee. Providing 3 bed nets for families in need is incentive enough for me to buy it. Knowing that something so simple can save so many lives is amazing, not to mention I love the design on the tee.

I like the robin tote because I like to collect robins. Friends Of Paradis des Indiens is the charity I would like to donate to. (Providing shoes for children in Haiti)

Shawna November 7, 2008 at 1:37 am

I’m all over the Tonic Education Tee. I work in a K-8 school and strongly support the idea that education is power. It’s pretty cool that purchasing this tee will provide safety, nutrition and education to kids who otherwise face a life on the street in India.

annie November 7, 2008 at 4:34 am

I love the Luella Stag tee, I’m a sucker for anything with antlers. It’s really cool that for each tee they donate a soccer ball to a school in Kenya!

julie reuter November 7, 2008 at 8:51 am

I prefer the tonic water tee. Besides the fact that it looks sharp, supporting clean water in Bangladesh & Honduras is a noble cause.

Elsie November 7, 2008 at 9:09 am

The Tonic Net Tee makes my heart flutter, I am in awe of the needs of the residents of our Earth…all of us share this beautiful planet. The families of sub-Saharan Africa need the malaria bed nets to live safely. I hope for a world where all families can live healthy and happy lives.

Thanks for the relevant information on your site, which I plan to share with others, especially young students.

Jen November 7, 2008 at 9:13 am

I love the robin tee and think it would be a great gift for my aunt!

sandra kao November 7, 2008 at 10:48 am

my favorite is the tonic education tee, and i support the cuase of providing clean water – the most basic of needs

Joan November 7, 2008 at 10:49 am

I would opt for the tonic peace bracelet. As our country looks toward a new President and Vice President, we should unite (as among ourselves and with the world) rather than divide. And a purchase of the bracelet helps get clean drinking water to people in Central America and Asia. I cannot imagine what life is like for those who don’t have clean, accessible drinking water.

Mary November 7, 2008 at 11:40 am

These Tee’s are wonderful.

Mary November 7, 2008 at 11:41 am

I would select the Robin Tee and I would support the Global Fund for Children. These children are our future and we need to do whatever is necessary to support them.

Dan November 7, 2008 at 1:02 pm

I like the tonic tree tee and planting 62,500 trees in North America.

laura owens November 7, 2008 at 2:14 pm

I love the “peace is loud” shirt. I like that they are helping peace activists educate people in the world. You can’t have too much peace!

Gita November 7, 2008 at 3:32 pm

My favorites are Tonic Robin tee and the Tonic education tee. Providing education for children always wins my heart. Children are our future and without proper education, there is no growth. Both charities are doing noble work – providing a child in Haiti with a pair of sneakers!!! Fabulous.

Susan Yates November 7, 2008 at 6:09 pm

Michelle November 7, 2008 at 8:11 pm

I love your web site and the fact that you can support a great cause and promote it by wearing a t-shirt to support the cause. I love the tonic water tee and access to clean water is so important around the world. Thanks for all you do.

Victoria November 7, 2008 at 10:13 pm

I love the Tonic Water tee that gives access to clean water for drinking, cooking, washing and cleaning in Bangladesh or Honduras. This is such a great idea. Is there any certain way on the site to search by cause??

Kelly Rae November 8, 2008 at 12:05 am

Such innovative designs! I would love to order the Tonic Stag tee to benefit children in Kenya by providing them with one soccer ball. No matter where you’re from, exercise and getting outside to play really is the best medicine.

Susan Ladd November 8, 2008 at 10:31 am

I think this a great looking T and would love to win one. Thank you and Happy Thankgivings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

kisah jackson November 8, 2008 at 12:50 pm

I love the vibrant green of the tree tee, and I love that American Forests is planting trees all over North America.

teresa November 8, 2008 at 1:08 pm

love the tonic robin tee, plus it provides a pair of shoes for a student. awesome!

Chelsea Small November 8, 2008 at 2:09 pm

The Tonic Douglas tee is not only super adorable with a monster on it, but also an amazing effort to help two Cambodian children with their dental hygeine.

Sometimes people (like most of us) who are fortunate, forget how precious something as simple as dental health can be to those who are not so fortunate.

I’d love to support the tee and charity

Danielle Hogan November 8, 2008 at 3:08 pm

I absolutely LOVE the KARMA bracelet! Being an artist myself who was raised by a single mother that worked herself into the ground, BRAC just kind of pierced my soul. It represents & aids a cause very close to my heart. Plus, I’m a firm believer in karma!

Bebemiqui November 8, 2008 at 3:21 pm

I like the Water Tee for it’s support of clean water in Bangladesh.

Eileen Tien November 9, 2008 at 3:33 pm

I really like the tonic douglas tee. A purchase of this tee is providing one year of dental care to two kids in Colombia. Just a little money can help kids in other countries that much is amazing.

I enjoy the Tonic Robin tee. To me it expresses freedom. There is so much freedom to be found within nature. I would give to the NJ Wildlife Conservation Society.

Joy Shepard November 9, 2008 at 6:42 pm

My favorite charity would be to provide safety, nutrition and education to kids who otherwise face a life on the street in India (tonic education tee). It is not my favorite tee, but the support would be great to let the children have a better chance at a life.

Annmarie Weeks November 9, 2008 at 7:26 pm

I love the Tonic coexist bracelet by Aarong. To support women’s businesses is fabulous and is so empowering to those in need who want to be able to support themselves & their families.

MaryBeth I November 9, 2008 at 7:36 pm

tonic sun tee
* A purchase of this tee is protecting a 1/4 acre of endangered coral reef in the Pacific Ocean

kate wanner November 9, 2008 at 9:32 pm

Peace is Loud is my favorite. Not only because a couple of the most amazing people I have ever met are peace activists and deserve more support, but that the desire for peace is (or should be!) a universal wish…and that we all need to strive for peace every day…in our homes, in our schools, in our workplaces, in our shopping cart, and on our tshirts.
peace out and peace in!

I like the tonic tree tee. I like how it looks and what it represents. I just read an article about a researcher who has found a bacterium that can expel as waste a chemical which is a key ingredient in the current (expensive) anti-malaria drug. It gives me hope that the need for mosquito nets will not be as great in the near future. Either way, this is one of those problems that should be easy to fix!

christal e November 10, 2008 at 1:42 am

these shirts are awesome!

Lori Z. November 10, 2008 at 1:51 am

I like the tonic net tee. It’s amazing that one tee can get three nets for families in need. I can’t even imagine being exposed that way!

Amy November 10, 2008 at 12:14 pm

The tonic net tee is fantastic. But more importantly, the cause that really is close to my heart is educating children in India. But why stop at 6,500 :-)

Veronica Garrett November 10, 2008 at 1:37 pm

I like the Tonic Peace is Loud tee. I like that the shirt supports peace activisits who are trying to make the world a better place by spreading the message of peace throughout the world.
