Vintage Must-Have: Floral Print Robe

by grechen on March 16, 2010 | SUBSCRIBE | TWITTER | FACEBOOK |

I just got the head’s up on new vintage boutique, Chic and you shall find, via Refinery29, and I’ve already found a few “must-have” pieces! How timely, considering I recently decided that I’d like to explore more vintage shopping, both online & off, after meeting Pamela from Market Publique (she is SOOO cute) and learning about some very cool vintage boutiques here in Austin.

This “robe” is very interesting – you can do a lot with it! Obviously, in warmer weather, it would be lovely layered over a tank dress with super-high platform sandals, or now, you could wear it with skinny jeans and a cardigan. So many outfits, and only $48…

C&C California adds Hemp Clothing

by grechen on March 16, 2010 | SUBSCRIBE | TWITTER | FACEBOOK |

You may or may not know about my position on hemp – so here it is: I believe that hemp is more sustainable and therefore eco-friendly than organic cotton, certainly bamboo, and probably all fibers from animals (i.e. silk, alpaca, wool, etc.). Hemp is easy to grow (if it’s legal to grow on a large scale), very hardy, and produces a high quality & durable garment.

Anyway, I’m always pleased to find more contemporary fashion designers/companies like C&C California incorporating hemp – even if it is only 60/40 hemp/cotton. It’s better than nothing, and definitely a step in the right direction. And a nice addition to their organic cotton collection.

Envi

Use code “yingyang” for 50% off at Envi eco-boutique through 3/12 – excludes final sale items and select sale items. And all sales are FINAL when you use this code, so be sure about what you buy. It’s so easy to want to snag everything…but I really like this belted jacket by raw earth, wild sky. It would be $134 after the code:

Nixxi @ Nimli

All Nixxi is marked 30% off at Nimli. I’d honestly take any of these pieces, but I think this ruffle wrap top is the most versatile, great for any season:

She-Bible

Through 3/11, use code “sunshine” for 25% off at She-bible (not valid on sale items). I can’t wait to see the new Spring items, but there are still lots of items I’d love to have from what’s up now. This organic cotton dress has always been on my wishlist:

Terra Plana

Finally, Terra Plana is offering 30% off their inventory, excluding the Evo collection, with code FINAL30 through 3/15. I really love the Evo pink running shoes, but sadly they’re not eligible, so I’d take these HOT PINK pumps instead!!

save 20% at LA Vintage

by grechen on March 9, 2010 | SUBSCRIBE | TWITTER | FACEBOOK |

One of Green Grechen’s lovely sponsors (I couldn’t do it without them), LA Vintage, has re-designed their site and is now offering 20% off to anyone who signs up for their e-mail newsletter through Facebook (they also run other periodic promotions, and it’s a great way to see new vintage items they’ve added). I also particularly love LA Vintage for their plus-size vintage fashions; they have such a nice selection!

Here are just some of the fun items they have on the site right now (I wish I could pull off that floral maxi-caftan in the middle!):
