Using only organic and reclaimed materials, Katey Nilan– the Northern California-based designer behind KateyLove Jewelry– creates each piece individually by hand. Made of leather and silk, Katie uses gold to frame semi-precious and precious gemstone centerpieces. The finished product: eclectic, whimsical and modern, with a one-of-a-kind attitude. Unique coloring and markings of each gemstone ensure no two necklaces are the same.

And Katey’s love doesn’t discriminate. Vegan and hypoallergenic options available; 100% recycled packaging material used each and every time. Necklaces range from $80-180; bracelets to be added to the line Spring 2010.

Because you can buy me love.

Must Have: cmarchuska Dyed Scarf

by grechen on December 9, 2009 | SUBSCRIBE | TWITTER | FACEBOOK |

If there’s one thing I’ve learned recently, it’s that even if I think I have enough scarves, I don’t. I’ve gotten in the habit of wearing the same couple of scarves all the time recently, and I love them, but I do sometimes wish I had more colors or styles to choose from.

I found this hand-dyed organic cotton scarf by Cmarchuska at Kaight NYC today, and it was love at first sight. I must admit an irrational love for all things tie-dyed (although I do prefer single-colors over rainbows…), so understand that first, but these are fabulous scarves, ethically made in NY, and affordable at $45 a pop and available in other colors:

Today’s the last day to use code “thanks” for 25% off at She-Bible. If you’re not familiar with She-Bible, they’re a great independent design company run by two friends, and all products are sewn and printed in San Francisco. Many of their pieces are made from organic cotton & hemp; all are flattering, fun silhouettes.

Here are some of my favorite pieces (add the coupon code on the product page BEFORE checkout):
