The Best Recycled Leather Handbags: Part Two

I’ve posted a lot of recycled leather handbags on Green Grechen – what can I say, I never get tired of finding lovely leather handbags – and as a follow-up to a popular post I did last year on “Reclaimed Chic: The Best Recycled Leather Handbags,” here’s a new rundown of my favorite recycled leather handbag designers:

Ashley Watson

Ashley Watson was the first designer I found a couple of years ago working with recycled leather. I may be wrong, but in my opinion, she paved the way for others to follow, and consistently produces unique, fashionable, high-quality recycled leather bags. She’s sold at nearly every online eco-boutique you can find now – Kaight, Beklina, and Nimli have some of the best selection. My favorite is this Kestrel bag at Beklina for $285:

reMade USA

reMade USA is a new recycled leather handbag designer who’s coming strong on to the market. Aside from selling in her own webshop, some of her designs will soon be sold on Barney’s Co-Op. Cool! The Sonoma is one of my favorite designs – the duffel is always an interesting shape. ($395)
reMade USA: $395

ReFind Original

ReFind Originals creates slightly more kitschy and girly recycled leather handbags, but I can’t help but love them, especially this simple crossbody style. ReFind is also available at Fashion Philanthropy and Grasshopper510.

ReFind Original: $150

Novella Royale

Novella Royale is a very new newcomer on the recycled leather handbag scene, but they’re hitting the ground running, already sold at online retail powerhouses Pink Mascara and Shopbop as well as being featured in magazine editorials. The bags are EXACTLY on trend at the moment, covered in studs of all different sizes, but priced much too high in my opinion. I can still love them though, right? This one especially makes me swoon…

Novella Royale: $644

Erin Templeton

Erin Templeton’s been on my radar as a hip Canadian designer for a few years, but I only recently discovered that she worked in recycled leather as well as new. Kaight has a nice selection of her recycled leather bags – my favorite is the medium tote in this wonderful bright orange!! ($300)

Erin Templeton: $300

Crystalyn Kae

Crystalyn Kae is most well-known for her vegan handbags, but recently she’s started creating some clutches with recycled leather for $95. How amazing is this color? What a way to bring some interest to a neutral outfit…
Crystalyn Kae: $95

Patkas

I’m not usually one for teeny tiny bags – at least for practical use – but I can’t resist this one! How lovely are the little roses?? Patkas sells recycled leather handbags on etsy; my favorite pieces are these small, interesting creations…

Hoakon Helga

Here’s another etsy seller, Hoakon Helga…these bow clutches seem to be her trademark now, and how cute are they!! The bow isn’t sewn in the middle for easy carrying (see the picture at her site) and they’re only $35 – great for use as a clutch, or even a makeup bag inside your bigger recycled leather handbag. I love these…

Made by Cate

I love the shape of this bag – it’s from the “apple” collection of Made by Cate on etsy. The color is quite nice also – I tend to prefer neutral clothing, but LOVE a colorful bag!
