Hemp often gets overlooked in favor of organic cotton, or bamboo, when we talk about eco-fashion, but the reality is that hemp is a key alternative plant and one with much more potential for eco-friendly textile use. Like bamboo, hemp can be grown without pesticides, and it grows very quickly. It also requires little or no irrigation. It’s my opinion that hemp, in a variety of ways, could transform multiple industries in this country – if only it were allowed to be GROWN here.
