I love competition; it inspires business owners to work harder, faster and better. And it provides consumers more resources to choose from. So naturally, I’m excited to have found a brand spanking new eco-boutique AND green fashion blog (which is not so new), Jute & Jackfruit and Green Cotton.
The boutique, Jute & Jackfruit, is focused on offering “exquisite, modern products while simultaneously investing in the environment and people at every stage.” They carry a great selection of eco-friendly designers like Peligrosa, Indigenous, Roberta Oaks, Nahui Ollin, & more – and the most amazing jewelry from Guatemala Fusion (the necklaces are hand beaded by women artisans in Guatemala – so unique!):
And I’m loving these organic cotton/bamboo/soy dresses by Kelly Lane:
I cannot wait to see more designers and new items in the coming weeks and months – so far, I am very impressed with the selection of designers – several you can’t find many other places – and I LOVE LOVE LOVE that each product has three or four images associated with it so you can get a better idea of how the item looks in real life and on different bodies.
Jute and Jackfruit also has two blogs associated with it, the “store” blog, and Green Cotton. Green Cotton has already received quite a few accolades (congratulations!!) and is a great resource for eco-fashion on the runway, and “serious” issues like textile bleaching, eco-friendly synthetic dyes, and hemp on the rebound. I’m totally adding Green Cotton to my favorite blogs…
Hey there Gretchen!
I’m so happy to see that you are a great supporter of Jute and Jackfruit as well as the blog and Green Cotton. We definitely appreciate your support! And think your blog is the bomb as well:) I work for Jute and Jackfruit and have my own blog at http://www.fairtradelifestyle.wordpress.com, so check it out if you’re interested!
Also, since you were so excited, I just wanted to drop a line to tell you that the Spring 09 collection from Kelly Lane, Indigenous Design, Rebe and Feral Childe have all arrived at Jute and Jackfruit so you should definitely check it out for your new favorites of the season! Thanks a lot.
Best,
